Read the Lenovo Chromebook 3 review and find out the price. Chromebooks are generally characterized by an affordable price and good autonomy. While they are less powerful than Windows devices, they can be a great way to manage data, especially if you are going to be traveling more.
So today we have the Lenovo Chromebook 3, a very compact, lightweight, Chrome OS-based device.
Now, this is far from the final launch, but we think the usefulness is not yet ripe for some users.
Google Chrome OS itself is preferred for its simplicity and reliability, so the software aspect is quite acceptable.
As for the hardware, it is entry level, and what bothers most is the very low memory configuration.
This limits its usability, and we wouldn’t know why anyone would still choose it as their primary computer.
As a Chromebook, well, there are better options, and you’re better off buying a laptop with a little more budget.
So this device is made for some people who are satisfied with its compact design and battery life.
Moreover, it may even be marked as obsolete if Lenovo no longer offers it. Read our review to see if it meets your expectations.

Pronunciation
The Lenovo Chromebook 3 does what it needs to do, but it’s just not a strong contender on the scene anymore given the competition. Sure, there are good things to say about this device, but the dull screen and other weaknesses make you doubt its usefulness.
Design and construction
One of the positives of the Chromebook 3 is its design, and while it’s not the best of its kind, its small size makes it a great travel companion.
It only comes in a black color option, onyx black if you like.
The cover is scratched, with a Chromebook sticker on one of the top corners and the Lenovo logo on the other.
The internal components remain very simple, and the screen can be rotated 180 degrees for a bit more comfort while working.
The overall build quality is good, and while not top notch, it’s pretty solid. Considering the price, you shouldn’t expect much.
It is quite light at only 1.12 kg and quite compact with a thickness of 0.67 inch and a length of 11.28 inches.
The screen measures 11.6 inches and is an HD screen. There are two basic problems here: thick frames and less vivid color reproduction.
The already small screen looks even bigger because of the bezels, and of course we’ve seen better image quality on budget Chromebooks like this one.
Power
The device is powered by a late 2019 Intel Celeron N4020 processor, which offers 2 cores, 2 threads and a maximum clock speed of 2.8 GHz from Intel.
It is not designed for heavy work, but it will give you a good battery life since the TDP is only 6W.
The included graphics card is an integrated Intel 600, also an entry-level graphics solution.
With this, you can be sure that the apps available in the Google Play Store will work smoothly and you will not experience any problems with them.
The available memory is 4 GB, which in turn limits the amount of execution allowed.
Overall, the Chromebook 3 doesn’t perform particularly well, falling short of most of its competitors on key criteria.
It is only good for you if you are not looking for achievements and are interested in basic productivity for students or in the office.
Another option is to watch movies and videos. Don’t forget to bring your external memory, as the standard storage space fills up very quickly.
Using frequently used applications can cause occasional stuttering, and it is better not to multitask on the device.
As for the screen, as we said, the HD panel is not that great, and the color accuracy should improve.
The peak brightness is 250 nits, which is not very bright and even problematic for outdoor work.
Google Chrome is the operating system, you have no problem with regular updates and privacy, and with an Android-based smartphone, working on the go is even easier.
Memory and RAM
The memory of the Lenovo Chromebook 3 is an eMMC storage. It’s faster than a hard drive, but the read and write speeds don’t come close to those of an SSD.
The biggest issue is the storage space, which at only 64GB can be a bit problematic for long-term use.
You can use external drives, flash drives and memory cards, which makes it a lot easier.
The RAM capacity is 4GB, which is soldered to the motherboard. The available quantity is only good for light use, and the upgrade quantity is already excluded.
It takes about 10 seconds to load, and the overall response is average. Discover the best laptops for homeschooling.
Ports and connections
The only reason the Chromebook 3 is still worth considering is that it has a decent connection that makes up for some of its weaker aspects.
For example, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C ports offer better bandwidth and charging capacity.
There are two more USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, a micro SD card slot, a headphone jack, etc.
For wireless connectivity, 802.11 ac WIFI and Bluetooth 4.2 are available.
Battery life
The device has a three-cell battery and 42 watts of power, which is decent considering it’s a Chromebook.
It comes with a 45 watt power supply that charges in 2 hours and offers a battery life of over 8 hours, depending on use.
Lenovo now claims a battery life of up to 10 hours, but there are factors that determine that.
The operating system does not work like Windows, so the battery consumption in standby mode is very low.
Whatever you do, screen brightness, WIFI and Bluetooth status (on or off), etc. are some of the things that directly affect the time the battery can hold the charge. – Are some of the things that have a direct impact on how long the battery can hold the charge.
The good news is that you don’t have to worry about that. Your laptop will last a long time without a charger, because it does that anyway.
With the WIFI off and the brightness set to halfway or lower, you can easily watch 3-4 long movies and still have power.
Additional functions
The Chromebook 3 has most of the features you’d expect from a laptop. T
he first is a nice keyboard, although without a backlight.
The keys allow you to type for hours without any discomfort, which is a great advantage for students and professionals.
The quality of the touchpad will probably improve, and we think you’ll want to use an external mouse.
In addition, there is a 720p webcam at the top of the screen, which also benefits from improvements.
The Chromebook 3’s speakers consist of two 2-watt downward-facing speakers.
They are strong, but not very clear. Again, external speakers are the best choice.

What do users think of the Lenovo Chromebook 3?
The Chromebook 3 is appreciated by many users, but there are also complaints.
The compact size and good battery life were the main features of the device, despite not necessarily performing well.
The specs are entry level, and there aren’t many options for upgrades.
Thus, while it cannot be used for computationally intensive tasks, other lighter tasks can be performed without any problems.
The dual-core processor is well equipped to handle single-threaded tasks, but you can see the difficulties beyond that.
Other aspects such as speaker and webcam quality were also rated as average, and most users would have liked the touchpad to be a bit more responsive.
The screen quality was a big disappointment to some, Lenovo could have really changed this.
It is a very economical device, and that is one of the things that users have appreciated.
There are better options, and even then people have considered the Chromebook 3 for its good features.
The connectivity is excellent, and the two Type-C ports proved to be very useful.
