Well, it seems that there is finally a good option for buyers as this desktop computer from MSI takes care of most of the important aspects.
In the middle and higher trim levels, this is definitely a performance desktop computer.
Moreover, the Trident X is offered in a slim format. While this is not unusual, MSI has done their best to fit so many powerful components into such a small space.
It features a Core i7 processor paired with an RTX graphics card, plenty of RAM, SSD storage, and excellent connectivity options.
You’d think these delicious glasses would cost a fortune, and while they are a bit pricey, these sets are not out of line.
Plus, the warranty and quality materials you receive are more affordable than building your own system, which takes extra time and effort.

The MSI MEG Trident X 10SD is a brilliant machine, not only among MSI products, but among all pre-installed hardware. While the small size and powerful specifications make sense, the compact form factor can also have negative effects.
Design and construction
The platform design is not entirely new, and MSI has used a similar enclosure in its other Trident X devices.
It’s compact, with different sections dedicated to the PSU, CPU and GPU, so none of them lack cooling.
Not only does it keep your computer cool, but it also gives it an iconic look that sets it apart from other gaming desktops.
There is also RGB lighting on the case, but only to the right degree. Discover the best laptop brands.
The tower itself is slim and only 5 inches wide, with extra glass on one side to show what’s inside.
While most gaming PCs have cooling fans on the sides or top, the fans of the Trident X 10SD are on the bottom, under the components.
And we must say that the overall design keeps the temperature within the operating limits, and there is no thermal throttling or fan noise.
Today, despite its small form factor, the desktop computer can be upgraded to a power supply unit.
There are free memory slots and most other parts can be replaced with newer ones with a few tools and some effort on your part.
The good news is that there are ports on the front and back, so connecting peripherals or other devices is never a problem.
We’ll come back to this later.
The desktop computer’s specifications include a Core i7-10700KF processor, an 8-core, 16-threaded and, in this case, fully overclockable processor.
The clock frequency before overclocking is between 3.8 and 5.10 GHz.
Although there are better processors out there, especially Ryzen, it still performs well when you look at the various desktop benchmarks.
The GPU used is the NVIDIA RTX 2070 Super, an 8GB graphics card popular for its performance and low cost.
So don’t hesitate to purchase this high-resolution monitor, because with the GPU you can easily play your games at high settings.
And not just for gaming, you can also use your desktop computer for intensive video editing, rendering and similar tasks without worrying about frame rates.
A specific objective for which we find the office very suitable is networking.
People in these and related professions can use this computer to work on large-scale projects using various server and network monitoring software, such as GNS3, PRTG, etc.
The GPU can also be upgraded if the GPU you choose is the right size and is supported by a 650W power supply that cannot be replaced.
This is the only major problem you may encounter with installation upgrades.
So this variant of the MSI Trident X is pretty powerful, and while there are better options, the numbers are still excellent.
The RTX 2080 Ti variant is still the best choice for 4K gaming, but the RTX 2070 Super GPU here is still a great option even if you’re gaming in 4K.
With Windows 10 Home OS already installed, your computer is always comfortable to use.
Memory and RAM
The storage in this version of the Trident X 10SD is something you’ll never come across, and not just because it has a 1TB SSD on board.
You’ll be happy to know that it has two free SATA 2.5 bays that can be used to add hard drives or SSDs.
There is also an additional NvME slot on the left side, which you can use to add another PCIe SSD module.
In terms of RAM, the motherboard supports two RAM modules, both of which are filled and offer 32GB of memory.
You can also expand the RAM to 64 GB, but the fan must be temporarily removed first.
Ports and connections
The good never stops with Trident X, because there’s a nice connection with it.
On the front, there’s a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port, a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A port, a USB 2.0 port, and two separate ports for headphones and microphone.
On the back, there are two more USB 2.0 ports, a Thunderbolt-compatible Type-C port, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A port, 5 audio ports, and an optical S/PDIF output.
The GPU offers three DisplayPort and HDMI outputs, while the motherboard has its own DisplayPort and HDMI connection.
This allows you to use multiple monitors simultaneously if necessary.
There is also a 2.5 GB Ethernet port, as well as WIFI 6 and Bluetooth.
The RGB lighting on the Trident X can be controlled by the Mystic software, but also by peripherals that in this case are already included in the platform.
The GK30 keyboard and GM11 mouse are suitable for the average user or gamer, but for any specific use you should buy aftermarket products.
The standard warranty is also covered by MSI.

MSI MEG Trident X 10 SD users quickly fell in love with it, mainly because of its slim design and performance.
They found nothing lacking in connectivity or scalability. Please refer to the MSI MEG Trident X manual.
There are few devices as small as this that buyers have been able to find, and even then, they haven’t disappointed users in terms of performance.
The Core i7 and RTX 2070 configuration of this particular variant was more than enough for all the tasks users wanted to perform.
The Trident X differs from most gaming PCs in several ways, but it’s the presence of the Thunderbolt 3 port that sets it apart the most.
Now, there were a few things that bothered some people, but that depends on personal preference.
Updating, for example, while sufficient for a computer this size, was not as smooth or easy.
No special skills were needed to replace the part, but it did take some time. Also the internal parts were not accessible without tools.
Those who bought this option had no issues with the price, but some feel that the higher end options should not have been as expensive as they are.
