To install an application from the Amazon Store, open the search function on the FireStick, top left of the home screen, and search for the desired application.
But for applications that need to be installed from an external source, it’s not that simple. OneBox HD is not an Amazon Store application, so it will be downloaded to your FireStick. Here are the requirements to install such an application:
- Attachments from unknown sources should be included
- You must have an additional application that allows side loading on the FireStick.
Don’t worry about it. I’ll make it easy for you, even if it seems a bit complicated.
Release of applications from unknown source
Applications from unknown sources is a security setting that is disabled by default to prevent the downloading of third-party applications. The OneBox HD is protected, so we turn this setting on by following the next steps:
1. On the FireStick home screen, select Settings from the top menu bar.
2. Open the device in the following screen
3. Select and open the developer options
4. Tap Apps from unknown sources to enable it when you see that it is disabled.

Installation steps: Onebox HD
I told you that installing apps like OneBox HD on the FireStick requires an additional side-loading app. There are two popular applications you can use:
- Downloader
- ES File Management
Both applications can be found in the Amazon store. As I said, you can simply find and install them using the search option on the home screen of your FireStick device.
We will now follow the steps to install the OneBox HD application on the FireStick, taking turns using both applications.
Method 1: Installing the OneBox HD on a FireStick with the bootloader
Update: The HD OneBox is working again. However, you must first download the optional MV Cast Player to the FireStick. Instructions for the next steps are included.
After installing Downloader from Amazon Store, open this application and follow the steps below:
Step one: On the right side of the main download screen, you should see an empty field to enter the URL (make sure the Home tab is selected on the left). Click in this field
Step two: Enter the following URL for the OneBox HD APK and press GO :

Important: After installing the OneBox HD, follow these steps and install the MV Cast player at https://www.firesticktricks.com/mv.
The OneBox HD will not work without this player.
Step three: The Downloader application connects to the server where the OneBox HD APK file is stored and starts downloading the file within moments.
Step four: Once the APK download is complete, the Downloader application will quickly launch the file and begin installation. Go to the bottom right corner of this window and click Install.
Step 5: Allow the FireStick to install the OneBox HD application. When this application is installed, a message App installed (as shown below) is displayed. When you click Open, the application starts immediately. But first, let’s press ready.
Step six: Clicking Finish will return you to the Downloader application. You will then see the following prompt.
Click Uninstall to remove the OneBox HD APK file from the FireStick. The storage capacity of your device is very limited, and there is no point in storing files you no longer need.
Seventh step: Press Delete again

Message: It’s just an alternative method. If you have already used the download method (method 1), you can skip this method.
I assume you already have the ES File Explorer application installed on the FireStick. If not, do it in the Amazon store, like I said. Follow the steps below to install the OneBox HD:
Step one: On the main screen of ES File Explorer, there is a sidebar on the left. In this menu bar, click Tools > Boot Manager
Step two: On the bottom right you will see several options. Press the first key labelled +New
Step three: In the dialog box that opens, enter the following URL in the Path field: https://www.firesticktricks.com/onebox.
Type oneboxhd or another name in the Name field. When you’re done, click Download Now
Step four: ES File Explorer retrieves the OneBox HD APK from the server and downloads it to the FireStick.
Step 5: When the download is complete, click on Open file
Step six: Then click on Install when the following prompt appears
Seventh step: The installation will then start. Give a final confirmation by pressing the Set button.
Step 8: Now wait for the message App Installed. To start the application, click Open. To return to the ES File Explorer application, click Done.
You can navigate to the download folder in the ES File Explorer application and delete the APK file to free up disk space.

To use OneBox HD on the Fire TV Stick
You can find a newly installed application in the Your Applications and Channels segment on the FireStick.
When you first open the application, it may tell you that a new version is available. In this case, you will need to upgrade to a newer version to be able to use the application. There is no way to ignore the update. Click on OK. It won’t take long.
Wait until the download is complete. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation (by clicking the Install button in the next window).
When the following confirmation appears, click on Open
The upgrade will not overwrite an existing copy of the HD OneBox. Instead, a new copy of the application is created. This is the first time I’ve found an application that does this.
When you start the new version, you will be asked if you want to delete the old version.
Then click the OK button. There is no point in keeping the old version.
You can now access OneBox HD on the FireStick. This is the home screen of the application.
As you can see in the top right corner, there is a Genres drop-down list that allows you to filter content by genre. Next to it is the search icon, which allows you to search for content using keywords.
Press the menu button in the top left corner of the application to switch between movies and TV shows.
As we mentioned earlier, you should use the Mouse Toggle feature with the OneBox HD to get a better experience when gaming and browsing.
This is especially true for the OneBox HD.
