  2. Select the address to which the verification code, phone number or recovery email should be sent.
  3. Press the Nextkey.
  4. Re-enter the first part of your email address or the last four digits of your phone number, depending on what you selected in the previous window.
  5. Select Get Code.
  6. Enter the code and reset the password.

2. Recovery of accounts

  1. Make sure you have a working email address.
  2. Please visit the official account recovery page.

  1. Fill out the form.
  2. Microsoft will review your responses and respond within 24 hours.

3. Using the command line

  1. Go to the search bar, type prompt and select Run as administrator.

  1. Type the following command: net user username newpassword, where username is the account whose password you want to change and newpassword is the new password for the account; if the username is made up of more than one word, put it in quotes, i.e. net user username newpassword.

  1. Press the Enter key to execute this command.
  2. You will now see a message that the order was successful.
  3. Use the new password to log into your account.

4. Using the control panel

  1. Go to search and type Control Panel.

  2. Click on Change Password.
  3. Once you have completed the fields, click the Change Password button.
  4. Use the new password to log into your account.

5. Additional solutions

  1. Reset the password using one of the Microsoft : If your child is not already playing the game with their Microsoft account, download the game to their device and select the Forgot Password option. Enter their email address where the security code will be sent and you can change their password from there.
  2. Create a new account: If none of the above options work, you can try deleting the entire family account or just the child and creating a new account.
