Chaehyun Lee, CEO and co-founder of Dable Inc., recently received the Presidential Citation of the Ministry of Science and ICT at the 21st Software Industry Day Awards for his contribution to the Korean software industry and innovation in foreign markets. The Ministry of Science and ICT annually awards prizes to promote the software industry and encourage correspondents.
Chaehyun Lee, with 12 years of experience in the IT industry, has taken a leading position in the marketing and globalization of software technologies. He began his career in 2007 as a research intern at NASA’s Ames Research Center. In 2008 he participated in the development of a new generation browser at LG Uplus, and in 2010 he participated in the development of crawlers for search engines at Naver Corp. He developed the first custom product recommendation platform in South Korea using large data processing, recommendation algorithms and machine learning technology, and in 2011 he was RecoPick team leader at SK Planet. In 2015 he founded a joint venture, Dable, a primary content discovery platform.
Dable is a technological startup with world-class data processing and custom technology. He recommends high-quality, tailor-made content for the 2,500 global media, retail and content distributors who work with Dable. Dable advises 5 billion pieces of content to 500 million users per month and generates 100 million clicks per month on the Dable platform.
Dable has different technologies to recommend the content efficiently and reliably. Dable has a large data platform designed to be a scalable system that responds to traffic. It also has a content analyzer that uses natural language processing and machine learning methods to extract key characteristics from the content, and a personalization platform that evaluates users’ interests based on their behavioral history and recommends the content accordingly. It has a fraud detection system (FDS) that detects malicious clicks from bots or users, and an A/B widget testing platform that automatically finds the optimized user interface on PCs and mobile devices.
Dable entered the overseas market in 2017 and currently serves Japan, Taiwan, Indonesia, Vietnam and Malaysia. Dable is a leader in the Asian content discovery market and has become the most widely used personalized recommendation platform in Korea, Indonesia and Vietnam. In Taiwan, monthly sales exceeded KRW 500 million two years after launch. Dable is growing rapidly and accounts for approximately 30% of total foreign sales. There are prospects for further growth through aggressive expansion in foreign markets.
