Prepaid cards are a convenient and cost efficient way to pay for goods. In the US, most prepaid cards use major credit card networks such as Visa or Mastercard to provide payment services in order to keep things simple for the customer. However, when there is no link between your debit/credit card information and your banking account associated with the number on that card — you can’t easily see how much money is left on it without contacting your bank directly (which typically charges fees). What’s worse – if someone steals that number from you, they can spend all of those funds at once!
