A critical Chrome update is a scam that displays false warnings about the browser or necessary system updates. In this way, users are led to install other potentially dangerous programs on their computers. If you are still getting redirected and these pop-ups keep appearing on your screen, it is advisable to check your computer for Chrome virus, a potentially unwanted program that can run on your system undetected.
Note that Critical Chrome Update virus is completely malicious because it can appear on your screen after you click on a junky traffic ad. This ad-supported network is known for only offering promotional content for adult websites. As a result, visitors to these domains fell victim to the KovCoreG malware, which spreads the Kovter virus on victims’ computers. For example, the installation of serious malware can also be the result of constant warnings about suspicious updates.
The critical Chrome update scam is an attack or social engineering campaign based on tech support tactics. Unfortunately, such messages and various warnings can lead to the installation of unnecessary tools, applications and programs.
However, scams like Critical Chrome Update Virus usually deliver messages and redirect as hosts to questionable or even malicious :
- iexaidlepro.org
- johphblogger-notes-and-tips.org
- tahxiintimes-lower-saxony.org
These pop-up windows may also contain messages with phone numbers indicating that victims should contact technical support. However, they are false and official tech support does not send such messages, especially not to encourage calls to questionable numbers. Therefore, remove the Critical Chrome Update Virus without interacting with the given number, without calling them or contacting other people behind the threat.

January 2021 Updated:
We now recommend that you use this tool to fix the error. The tool also corrects common computer errors, protects against file loss, malware and hardware failures, and optimizes your PC for optimal performance. With this software, you can solve IT problems quickly and prevent others from suffering:
- Step 1 : Download the PC repair and optimization utility (Windows 10, 8, 7, XP, Vista – Microsoft Gold Certified).
- Step 2 : Click on the Start scan button to detect problems in the Windows registry that may cause PC problems.
- Step 3 : Click the Fix All button to fix all issues.
Install and use one of the best antivirus software to detect and block vulnerable malware so that you do not become a victim of this attack. (According to VirusTotal’s malware detection index, currently only a few brands of antivirus software can easily detect it.)
You can also use only Mozilla Firefox for the next few days until most antivirus companies have detected and blocked the threat. With Microsoft Edge sharing its bases with Chrome, you should avoid it out of caution.
Most importantly, do NOT install any content from the website that asks you to update your Google Chrome browser. Chrome doesn’t work this way: it updates invisibly and you rarely need to do anything if you already have it installed.
