.NET Runtime Optimization Service High CPU Usage [SOLVED]

The Net Runtime Optimization service optimizes your system or computer and helps it to run and process applications or programs quickly. The Net Runtime Optimization service is intended to ensure that applications run as fast as possible. This optimization service runs in the background and Microsoft has stated that it should not run for more than a few minutes.

But sometimes the optimization process takes a lot of time and consumes a lot of CPU resources. Users who have taken the .net optimization service often consume a large amount of CPU power. So instead of making your applications or programs run faster, your whole system responds slowly and consumes 80-90% of your CPU.

In some cases, this optimization service consumes memory and all available memory, making your computer slow and with little capacity for more data.

What are the causes of the high usage of the .NET runtime optimization service processors?

When the computer is idle, the optimization service is programmed to recompile the libraries of the .NET framework in 5 to 10 minutes, but for some users this is not the case.

Solution 1: Process Optimization

Step 1: Press Windows + R, the Run dialog box appears.

Step 2: Type cmd at the runtime prompt and click OK.

Step 3: Press Ctrl + Shift + Enter to run the command prompt as administrator.

Or

Find the command line in the search bar, and when the command line option appears, right-click and choose Run as Administrator.

Step 4: Type these commands and press Enter after typing each command.

cd c:WindowsMicrosoft.NETFrameworkv4.0.30319cd c
:WindowsMicrosoft.NETFramework64v4.0.30319

Between the two commands above, choose the one that corresponds to your operating system.

(32 bits – control 1)

(64 bits – control 2)

Then enter this command:

Executable files ngen.exe

Step 5: Close the command line, open the task manager.

Step 6: Check whether or not the processor of the optimization service is authorized.

If you cannot work with the command or if your system does not allow it, you can try using the official script published by Microsoft to help you do the same:

Step 1: To download the official script, go to the Microsoft GitHub page.

Step 2: Right-click on the “Raw” button and then click on the “Save” link.

Step 3: Make sure this file is saved as a “Windows Script File” (*. wsf), then click “Save” to download it to your computer.

Step 4: Find the Windows script file saved on your computer and double-click it to run it, or when the selection appears, select the program from which you want to run it and select Windows Host Script.

Step 5: The command line executes the script itself and exits automatically.

Step 6: Check whether the problem is solved or not.

Solution 2: Scan your computer for malware.

A virus or malware invades your system and can cause and infect the .NET runtime optimization service.

Malware is constantly trying to take over your system, and often gives its processes file names that resemble other files on your system, making them difficult to remove.

To do this, run a thorough scan of your computer for malware with Malwarebytes, Avast, SpyHunter, and others.

One of these great anti-virus programs is Malwarebytes, which makes scanning easy and has a huge database.

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware: you can buy it and prepare for other problems, but there is also a free version that you can download from the official website.

Proceed as follows:

Step 1: Locate the file (malicious bytes) that was downloaded to your computer.

Step 2: Double-click on the file to open it.

Step 3: Choose an installation option and follow the on-screen installation instructions.

Step 4: Go to the start menu and look for the malware bar, then click on the “Scan” option available on the start screen.

Step 5: Before the scan, the virus database is updated and the scanning process is started.

Step 6: When the scan is complete and malware is found, confirm the removal and delete the selected files.

Step 7: When you are finished, reboot the system.

Check whether the problem is solved or not. You can try installing other antivirus programs, since one of them cannot find and remove all types of malware.

Solution 3: Restart the service

If you have a problem with the high processor performance of the .NET Runtime Optimization Service, it may help to restart the Optimization Service. Even if a bug caused the problem, it should quickly terminate its service after a restart.

Proceed as follows:

Step 1: Press the Windows + R key, a startup prompt will open at the top of the window.

Step 2: In the Run dialog box, type services.msc and press Enter to open Services. msc.

Step 3: Scroll down and find the NVIDIA Telemetry Container.

Step 4: Once you have found it, right click on it, a menu will appear, select the properties that are there.

Step 5: Next, on the General tab of the Properties menu, set the NVIDIA Telemetry Container Startup Type to Automatic.

Step 6: Check the status of the maintenance (whether it is in progress or not).

Step 7: When you see that the service is working, click on the “Stop” option available on the screen.

Step 8: Restart and click Start.

Step 9: If you get the following error message :

“Windows could not start the service on the local computer. Error 1079: The account specified for this service is different from the account specified for other services running in the same process.”

Then perform the following steps:

Step 1. Repeat the same procedure through step 4.

Step 2: Go to the “Properties” menu, under the “Connection” tab, and then click on the “View” button.

Step 3: Under “Enter a name to select a setting,” enter the name of your account.

Step 4: Then check the names and wait until the name is available.

Step 5: When you are finished, select OK. Enter the password in the password entry field on the screen.

Check whether the problem is solved or not.

Solution 4: Reboot

Sometimes third-party applications cause high CPU usage due to the .NET runtime optimization service. To check if there is a problem, restart your PC.

Proceed as follows:

Step 1: Open the command prompt, type msconfig and click OK.

Step 2: In the configuration window that opens, under the Services tab, check the Hide all Microsoft services and disable all check box.

Step 3: You will be asked to restart the computer, but you can choose to restart later.

Step 4: When the configuration window opens, repeat step 1 on the “Run” tab and select “Open Task Manager”.

Step 5: Look at the last option “start kick” and uncheck the options under “strong kick” by right-clicking each of them.

Step 6: Restart your computer in clean boot mode.

Check whether the problem is resolved or not. If the problem is resolved, activate the required requests marked as severely affected.
