Android phones are becoming more and more reliable. We’ve combined the best chipsets with a memory almost equal to that of an average laptop. But the bottom line is that our phones do a lot more work than regular laptops. In addition to games, videos, and social media apps, we regularly participate in phone calls, video calls, and many other activities that require our phones to work properly at all times.

From time to time, our phones can no longer handle the excessive pressure. A common question is how to fix Android apps that close automatically. We have some solutions that can help you solve the problem so you can enjoy a smoother Android experience.

But before we get to the solutions, here are some reasons that may lead to the problem:

Network problems

Internet-dependent applications may fail if your network is unstable or if you switch from a mobile to a Wi-Fi connection. While the best applications run smoothly, applications with weaker code can fail in these situations.

Application error

If an error occurs in the application you are using, this may cause the application to close automatically. Correcting errors in applications is primarily the responsibility of the application developer. Make sure you keep your applications up-to-date to fix any bugs.

CPU overload or improper memory usage

Each phone is designed to withstand a number of loads. Some intensive users tax the processor by installing applications that are not ideal for the phone. This causes instability in the application, which can lead to a crash.

Here are some of the most common causes of applications crashing automatically. In most cases, the cause of the problem makes it easier to find the right solution.

Secondary automatic locking solutions

Solution 1: Application update

Applications should always be run with their own updated version to fix known bugs or defects. The developers are regularly updated to solve the problems of the users of the application. It is possible that the application crashes because it is using an older version that does not have the power of the updated version.

  • Visit the Play Store
  • Click on the menu icon (three horizontal bars) to the left of the search bar.
  • Click on My apps and games
  • In the list of installed applications and games, find the application causing the problem and make sure the Refresh button is highlighted next to it.
  • Click Update when the button is highlighted and the latest version of the application will be installed on your device.

After updating the application, check if the problem is solved.

Solution 2: Free up your device’s memory

Many applications require sufficient disk space to create new files or to store data created while using the applications. If your phone or tablet has too little storage space, it becomes difficult for the app to create data. Many devices have enough storage capacity, but if too many apps and data files take up space, your app may crash. An easy way to solve this problem is to identify which applications you haven’t used for a while and uninstall them. You can also use Android apps to delete old and unwanted files from your device.

Solution 3: Clear application cache and data

If the application crashes frequently, you can solve the problem by clearing the application’s cache and data. Application cache files contain data that speeds up application performance. Deleting cache files does not result in the loss of important data. The file is automatically created when you next open the application, although you may notice a slight delay when opening the application after clearing the cache files. This is due to the creation of cache files.

The application’s data files, on the other hand, contain important data such as passwords and other information that the application customizes for you. By deleting the data file, the configuration of the application is lost and must be reconfigured.

  • Go to the Device Settings menu
  • Click on the applications
  • Find the application causing the problem and click on it.
  • Click on Clear Cache
  • Then click Clear Data and click OK when a warning message appears informing you that the application configuration data will be lost.

Once the cache and data files are cleared, you can restart the application. See if this solves the problem.

Solution 4: Uninstall applications you don’t use.

We often put applications in the drawer that we don’t use at all. If one of these applications develops a bug, it not only takes up valuable disk space, but also causes all kinds of problems, and sometimes it can even spread to other applications that have the same permissions. Avoid these problems by cleaning up your device and removing applications you don’t use.

  • Tap the Settings icon on the Notifications screen.
  • Search and click on applications
  • Check the applications you do not need
  • Click on them and you have the option to remove or disable them.

After uninstalling the unused applications, restart your device and check if the problem of automatically closing applications is solved.

Supplementary opinion:

In addition to these solutions, keep the following in mind to ensure that your Android device works properly and your apps run smoothly:

  • Be aware of your phone’s capabilities when installing powerful applications. If your phone is designed for moderate use, you may not be able to run heavy games and applications that would tax the processor. Heavy applications require reliable operation of the unit.
  • Remember to store enough memory on your phone so that applications can easily create data files. Lack of space is often the cause of many problems.
  • Some applications work well on some Android devices and poorly on others. The problem is that developers don’t have the ability to test every app on every Android device. In most cases, you can use forums or application comments to see if a particular group of users is having a problem. Check this box to see if you belong to the same user group. In that case, you should wait for the developer to install the app on your device, or you’re better off uninstalling the app.

Use these solutions and tips to solve Android app shutdown problem yourself. These are the best ways to solve the problem, but if you have other useful solutions that work for you, please let us know.
